Customer Review: great product, breaks too easily
I want to LOVE this product and for the most part I do. But, I'm on my 3rd one since December 2007 due to the blender (part that attaches the motor to the stick) melting. When it works, it works great. I use it mainly for smoothies and it blends all the frozen fruit without problem. Oster support has been super and have replaced the product each time in under two weeks. I will continue to use it and get it replaced until they either correct the problem or stop sending me replacements!

This is one of the best and most used appliances I have. It works great. Highly recommend it. Easy to use and easy to clean. It's great.

Flat rubber o-ring seal. A common replacement part, this seal sits between the top of the blade and the botom of the jar. Only one seal is needed per blender. Fits ALL Oster blenders, Osterizers and Oster Kitchen Centers. Also fits some Sunbeam models which use a metal drive pin.
Customer Review: It's a gasket
I live in the middle of nowhere and do appeciate being able to purchase something like this from amazon, but considering what this is, a rubber gasket, the shipping costs were outrageous. A gasket doesn't need a padded envelope; wrap it in a single sheet of paper and stick it in a letter size envelope with a .42 stamp for gosh sakes!

Customer Review: I love this blender!
I love, love, love this blender! I bought a Kitchenaid blender about 10 years ago and hated it everyday that I owned it, it finally broke so I got to buy a new one. My mom owns this Oster blender and I tested hers out before I bought it. I can not tell you how much better this blender is compared to the Kitchenaid! I can make a blended Margarita in less than 30 seconds and the ice is so smooth! After 2 minutes on the Kitchenaid the ice would be uneven and still have very big chuncks in it. This is an awesome blender and it's a third of the price of the Kitchenaid.

Customer Review: I Hate This Blender!
I received this blender as a wedding gift several years ago. It doesn't blend very smoothly -- to avoid lumps, I have to frequently stop blending, stir the ingredients, and start blending again. It also doesn't blend things quickly. The worst thing about this product, though, is the noise: it is ridiculously loud (the disc sander, power drill, and other power tools in my home are all quieter!). The only reason I gave it two stars instead of one is that it has lasted several years without frying completely (though this may be too generous, as I only use it rarely and the motor smells burnt when operating).

Customer Review: Money Saved
My blender was giving me fits. It was not responding to my foot stomping so it was relegated to the toss or donate pile. Then I saw this little gizmo on Amazon and thought to myself: "self, what about this?" Right out of the box, and after the first use, I realized that I had made a smart purchase--I no longer needed to replace my blender. Since Summer is here and it is an important time for blended drinks, this is a very good thing. Your blender motor may be just fine. It may be that the existing blender blade has been stripped for over-use. This gizmo falls into the "sucha deal" column. And, yes, it does deserve 5 stars.

Doesn't work wth the Osterizer Galaxie. If I had bought the bottom cap this product might have worked. Made in Mexico.
